Colorpedia

colorpedia.org is my reference work for named colors. There I catalogue colors with their names in English and German, along with hex codes and RGB values, sorted by color families.

While building it, a few things mattered to me:

• Colors can be explored by family, either as cards or in a grid.
• The whole palette can be operated from the keyboard, moving through the colors with the arrow keys and selecting with Enter.
• Hex code or color name are copied with a single click.
• Favorites stay stored locally in the browser.
• The interface is bilingual, in English and German.

There is no tracking. Settings and favorites live in cookies and in the browser's localStorage, and the site needs nothing more than that.
