LED art

This section collects LED art projects that I built together with Andreas.

Andreas was an electrical and laser technician, I come from software and security. If you want to see where his heart was: on eiergeier.at his laser and lighting technology site has been online since the early two-thousands, with self-built laser heads and DMX512 controllers. On paper those are two separate worlds. In the workshop they were two perspectives on the same problem, and I benefited enormously from exactly that. A technician thinks in currents, tolerances and materials, I think in states, protocols and failure cases. Where the two meet, projects emerge that neither of us would have come up with alone.

That, for me, is the real lesson from this collaboration: partnerships with neighboring disciplines are not a side note for a software company, they are one of the best sources of new things. They create value, and they bring a lot of fun. The LED projects with Andreas were both.

Andreas passed away in early 2026. These pages remember him and the work we did together. They are meant to hold on to what we built and to preserve the joy that lives in these projects.
